President Biden said during a speech at the State Department on Thursday that any plans to remove American troops from the nation of Germany will stop as a "global posture review" is conducted regarding U.S. forces.

The president said that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin "will be leading a global posture review of our forces so that our military footprint is appropriately aligned with our foreign policy and national security priorities. It will be coordinated across all elements of our national security with Secretary Austin and Secretary Blinken working in close cooperation."

Biden said that "we are ending all American support for offensive operations in the war in Yemen, including relevant arm sales."
